The 993 series finds itself well placed in the 911 spectrum, encapsulating the unmistakable magic and unique feel of the air-cooled era whilst offering a modern yet involving driving experience. Turbocharged 911’s were the backbone of Porsches successful motorsport programme in the ’70s, 80’s and ’90s with many class and outright victories at famous events such as Le Mans and Daytona 24 hours.
The 993 Turbo was the last of the air-cooled era and is widely regarded as one of Porsches most desirable 911 variants, although it still has a classic timeless style, performance is still very respectable today. With an air-cooled twin turbo engine producing 408 BHP that puts the power down via a 6-speed gearbox, and an electronic 4wd system in standard form, it offers performance to embarrass a lot of modern cars today. With a top speed of 180mph and a 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds, it certainly does not hang around! A very desirable upgrade in period was to tick the expensive option box `X50` which raised the power to 430BHP and enhanced performance even further.
This lovely example was originally supplied through Graypaul Porsche and was delivered on the 19th March 1998. Finished in the classic combination of arctic silver with black leather interior, it was supplied with a number of factory options, including the X50 power upgrade.
It has covered just 46,000 miles from new and been comprehensively maintained throughout its life with 16 main agent/Porsche stamps in the book and invoices for additional maintenance too.
This 993 is one of the very last turbocharged air-cooled Porsches to be produced and in a desirable specification too, ensuring its next custodian will have secured a rare and desirable air cooled 911.
